Brace yourselves, y’all, because the royal wedding of Brunei’s Prince Abdul Mateen is going to be a huge deal, starting from Sunday, January 7.
WHO IS THE LUCKY LADY THAT BRUNEI’S PRINCE ABDUL MATEEN IS TYING THE KNOT WITH?
Prince Abdul Mateen is the fourth son and tenth child of Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan and Prime Minister of Brunei, and he’s head over heels for his fiancée, Anisha Rosnah, the granddaughter of the Sultan’s special advisor, Pehin Dato Isa. The lovebirds have been together for ages before the Sultan’s palace spilled the beans about their engagement in October 2023. Rosnah is a boss lady who runs the fashion brand Silk Collective and co-owns a tourism company called Authentirary. The prince kicked off the new year by posting a rare snap with his fiancée on his Instagram, where he rocks a navy blue suit, and Rosnah slays in a cream-colored pantsuit with a massive diamond ring on her finger. 😍
THE WEDDING FESTIVITIES WILL LAST FOR 10 DAYS
From January 7 to January 16, 2024, the wedding of Brunei’s Prince Mateen and Rosnah will be a non-stop party, featuring Islamic ceremonies, musical performances and a lavish banquet. According to Hello!, the wedding will kick off with the ceremony of the proposal of marriage to receive the Royal Command, where royal court musicians will set the mood for the celebrations. The wedding will reportedly happen in an Islamic ceremony at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque January 11, and the next reception and a parade through Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, will be on January 14. While we don’t know who’s on the guest list, the banquet wrapping up the wedding will surely have some famous faces and royals from around the world, including maybe Britain’s Prince and Princess of Wales, and Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan. 🙌
WHAT WILL THE BRIDE WEAR?
The big reveal of the bridal gown will definitely be one of the highlights of the royal wedding. At the pre-wedding ceremony or the Khatam Quran, Rosnah wore a traditional baju kurung by Malaysian label Teh Firdaus. The custom-made outfit was in a gorgeous pale blue shade, with silver sparkles and a white hijab. 💙
